I leader non mi interessano. I paesi non sono aziende in cui basta un Ceo carismatico a far funzionare tutto. E non penso a una rivoluzione: il XX secolo è stato pieno di sogni sfociati in dittature ideologiche. Una visione utopica dovrebbe essere realizzata lentamente…L’ndividuo cosa dovrebbe fare? Da solo nulla. Ma bisogna ricordare che insieme si può. C’è tanto ottimismo individuale e poco collettivo. Siamo stati educati così. Cambiare questa prospettiva sarebbe un inizio. E dovremmo smettere di fare i moralisti. Di mettere all’indice chi è bloccato dal sistema, dall’ignoranza, dalla povertà. Un mondo migliore non inizia con “te” ma con “noi”. Guardare gli altri con compassione –nel significato latino del termine – è il primo passo.
Leaders do not interest me. Countries are
not companies in which it is enough to have charismatic CEO to make everything
work. And I am not thinking of a revolution: the twentieth century was full of
dreams which ended in ideological dictatorships. A utopian vision should be carried
out slowly ... What should a person do? All alone nothing. However, one must remember
that together we can. There is so much individual optimism and so little of the
collective kind. That is the way we were brought up. To change this perspective
would be a start. And we should stop being moralists. To blacklist those who
are blocked by the system, by ignorance, by poverty. A better world does not
begin with "you" but "we." Look at others with compassion –
taken in the Latin meaning of the word – it is the first step.
