KAPUNSCINSKI : PER IL DIALOGO OCCORRE ACCETTARE LA DIVERSITA'

Il dialogo con gli altri non è mai stato facile né mai lo sarà, specialmente ora che tutto assume una scala così vasta, così difficile da comprendere e controllare, e che tante forze lavorano per ostacolarlo, se non addirittura per renderlo impossibile. Ma a parte questi scopi e interessi puramente politici, ideologici ed economici, esistono anche altri problemi di fondo.

Uno di essi viene messo a fuoco dall'ipotesi di Sapir-Whorf sulla cosiddetta relatività linguistica.

Sostanzialmente essa sostiene che il pensiero viene formulato in base alla lingua e che, parlando diverse lingue, ognuno di noi si crea un immagine del mondo personale e diversa da quella degli altri.

Queste immagini non combaciano, non sono intercambiabili,

Quindi il dialogo, seppure non impossibile, richiede da parte degli interlocutori un grosso sforzo, una paziente tolleranza e il desiderio di capire e di intendersi,

Il rendersi conto che, parlando con un altro, abbiamo davanti qualcuno che in quello stesso momento vede e capisce il mondo in modo diverso dal nostro, è fondamentale per favorire un dialogo positivo.

Dialogue with others has never been easy, nor will it ever be, especially now that everything happens on such a large scale, making things difficult to understand and control. There are so many forces working to hinder it, even to make it impossible. Beyond political, ideological, and economic interests, there are also deeper, more fundamental obstacles.

One of these is captured in the hypothesis of linguistic relativity, advanced by Sapir and Whorf. It suggests that thought is shaped by language, and that by speaking different languages, each of us constructs a distinct vision of the world. These visions do not align, nor can they be exchanged as if they were the same.

Thus, dialogue—while not impossible—demands great effort, along with patience, tolerance, and a genuine will to understand and to be understood. We must never forget that whenever we speak with another person, we are speaking with someone who, at that very moment, perceives and interprets the world in a way quite different from our own.

Le dialogue avec les autres non a jamais été facile et ne le sera jamais, spécialement maintenant que tout se réalise sur une échelle tellement grande, tellement difficile à comprendre et à contrôler, et que tant de forces travaillent à y faire obstacle, sinon même à le rendre impossible. Mais en dehors de ces buts et interêts purement politiques, ideologiques et économiques, il existe aussi d'autres problèmes de fond.

L'un deux a été mis en évidence par l'hypothèse de Sapir-Whorf sur la prétendue relativité linguistique.

En substance, celle-ci soutient que la pensée est formulée au moyen de la langue, et que parlant des langues différentes, chacun de nous se crée une image de son monde propre e différent de celui des autres.

Ces images ne s'adaptent pas ensemble, ne sont pas interchangeables, donc le dialogue, même s'il n'est pas impossible, demande de la part des interlocuteurs un grand effort, une patiente tolérance et le désir de comprendre et de se comprendre.

Se rendre compte que, en parlant avec un autre, nous avons face à nous quelqu'un qui au même moment voit et comprend le monde d'une autre façon que la nôtre, est fondamental pour permettre un dialogue positif.
